The future of Cody
A new era is rising
on Detroit's west side.
A new school. New opportunities. And a basketball program building its next generation.

A new era is rising at Cody.
Cody High School is entering one of the most exciting chapters in its history — and for families considering where their daughters will learn, grow and compete, the timing could not be better.
For generations, Cody High School has been part of Detroit's west side. Now the next generation of Comets is preparing for something transformational.
Detroit Public Schools Community District has broken ground on a new approximately $86 million Cody High School, replacing the current facility with a modern learning environment designed for the students who will carry Cody's name into the future. The new building is expected to welcome students in 2027.
For Cody Girls Basketball, we see more than a new building.
We see opportunity.
$86 million says something about Cody's future
Families choosing a high school aren't simply deciding where their child will spend the next four basketball seasons. They're deciding where she will spend four incredibly important years of her life.
That's why the investment being made at Cody matters. The new school is planned to include modern classrooms and laboratories, expanded career and technical education opportunities, flexible learning spaces, improved heating and air conditioning, dedicated spaces for programs including band and JROTC, and a courtyard designed to create additional opportunities for students and the school community.
Students will have opportunities to explore areas such as health science and marketing, along with a student-run store featuring apparel created by students and alumni.
"It just looks like opportunity."— Cody student

There's something special about joining something great. There's something different about helping build it.
Think about what the next several years can look like for a young woman entering Cody: a new school, new learning environments, expanded academic and career opportunities, a basketball program committed to player development, and a team culture built around competition, accountability and belonging.
And an opportunity to help establish what the next era of Cody Girls Basketball will look like.
The building is new. The mission is bigger.
Built in the dark.
The facility may be new, but the standard remains the same: develop the person, sharpen the player, and build something worth belonging to. Basketball remains the hero. The campus gives the next generation more room to grow.
